This etching was printed from a large zinc plate on silk as a Triptych series. The images were built up in layers using an innovative resist application of sugar-lift aquatint and drawing directly into aquatint creating inverse positive and negative combinations of the wave scape form using a giant Japanese brush.

Catherine is a printmaker creating etchings that express the energy of the natural world and a sense of awe and wonder it inspires. Fused with her passion for making music, Catherine is collaborating with composer Matt Gooderson on a new series of etchings and a music album 'Wavescape'. This work provides solace during the covid lockdown and expresses a longing for the sea. She studied at Camberwell School of Art, Kent Institute of Art & Design and gained an MA at the University of Maine, USA where she took part in innovative research into non-toxic printmaking methods. She has set up a Green Print Studio as a base to teach, lead art walks and research alternative printmaking methods.
